BACKGROUND OF THE PROBLEM The Philippine tourism flourished in the 1970s and early 1980s and signs of a faster growth appeared in the early 1990s. Considered the third-largest English-speaking country in the world, the Philippines offers world-class facilities and services excellent accommodations, fine restaurants, modern shopping centers and communication services, efficient congress and exhibition organizers and professional tour operators. This gave the Department of Tourism a reason to forecast a positive outlook for the future years. This boosted the number of students taking up Hotel and Restaurant Management course and also the schools or universities who are offering Hotel and Restaurant Management course. One of which is Trinity University of Asia who started its College of Hospitality and Tourism Management in 1996. Nowadays, Hotel and Restaurant Management graduates are in demand not only here in the Philippines but also in other countries, in spite of being in demand other graduates of Hotel and Restaurant Management (2011) in Trinity University of Asia are still unemployed, and this made the researchers to be curious about The employability of Hotel and Restaurant Management graduates of 2011 in Trinity University of Asia. The researchers want to know the percentage of employability of the graduates in their chosen fields either lodging and accommodation or food and beverage service, As well as if they are prepared enough based on their trainings, experiences, and learning in Trinity University of Asia. The Researchers, as being part of the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management are eager to finish this study to benefit future researchers, students, faculties, administrations or readers.
